According to the Red Devils have identified Robinson as a long-term heir to Shaw for the left-back position. The 27-year-old is valued at around £30m ($39m) by the Cottagers and they might be willing to part ways with the defender if they receive an offer that matches their valuation.
Robinson joined Fulham from Wigan Athletic in August 2020 for a modest fee of £2m ($2.61m). Since arriving at Craven Cottage, Robinson has established himself as a reliable defender and has previously been linked with Manchester City, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

United were also linked with Chelsea's Ben Chilwell as a potential left-back option, but no concrete developments have emerged from those discussions. They have been plagued with Shaw's injury problems throughout 2024 as a hamstring issue picked up in February ruled him out for the rest of the 2023-24 campaign. Although he returned to action for the England national team in the European Championship, he played just 177 minutes from the quarter-final stage onwards.

Adding to United's defensive worries is the fact that Tyrell Malacia, another left-back option, is also on the injury list. Malacia's absence, combined with Shaw's unavailability, has left United short of options at left-back with Diogo Dalot filling in the role. The Portuguese will be in for a stern test when United take on Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League.
