Ronald Koeman has confirmed Memphis Depay is still in his Netherlands plans after the forward sealed a move to Brazilian side Corinthians.

Depay is set to complete a move to Corinthians on a two-year deal after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired in the summer. The deal sees the 30-year-old head away from Europe after spells with a host of the continent's top clubs including Atletico, Barcelona, Lyon, Manchester United and PSV.

Depay follows compatriot Steven Bergwijn in making something of a surprise move. Bergwijn has joined Saudi club Al-Ittihad in a transfer that has seen Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman reveal the "book is basically closed to him" when it comes to playing for the national side. Koeman's declaration drew a scathing response from Bergwijn, but seems that it's a different story with Depay who is still in the national team manager's thoughts.
WHAT KOEMAN SAID
He told reporters: "I disapproved of Steven Bergwijn's move to Saudi, with Memphis it can be different. The level of the league in Brazil is different, so yes, he can still be part of the national team, but it depends on his fitness and if he reaches his level."

Depay has scored 46 goals in 98 appearances for the national team but is not part of Koeman's current squad for fixtures against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany.
